INTRODUCTION TO DSLR

As photographers we are constantly approached by clients and friends who have purchased DSLR camera systems and would love to learn how to use them correctly. We have designed a workshop for the absolute beginner or someone wanting to refresh some skills

Our Introduction to DSLR workshop we will have accomplished industry professionals teach you how to start operating your camera under full manual control. As an introduction we will help you take a look at your specific camera and explain its physical features and functionality. We will look at lens options, aperture, ISO and shutter settings while assisting you in understanding the importance of good light.

In this workshop we will explain key points such as the rule of thirds, leading lines, correct crop options and discuss what it takes to construct a professional looking image.

In this workshop you will be assisted by two or more active working industry professionals while learning in a full studio environment.

On the day we only have a few basic requirements for this workshop

- We will require you to bring your own DSLR camera and lens with full manual capability
- Dress comfortably with appropriate clothing and footwear to be moving around a photography studio
- Bring charged batteries and anything else required for you to take photographs
- A pen and pad is suggested but not required
- Please also note that trains and buses do NOT run to this location

For everyone completing a course with us there will be a FREE bonus component which will include a Brisbane City night photography session with Stephen Jones

POSING FOR PHOTOGRAPHY
“Power in Posing” is one of Pixel Matrix’s most sort after and specialist workshops for models and photographers

Whether posing individuals, couples or larger groups understanding correct construction techniques can really finish off that shot you have been looking for. Posing can be used to add things like emotion, connection, strength and is used throughout the photographic industry

LISTEN WITH YOUR EYES

“Listen With Your Eyes”  will show you how to open your mind in ways you never thought possible.  Your creativity will explode with colour and ideas and you will be so excited to reflect it in your own work.  Just some of the topics we will be covering will be:

  • Creating an ideas pool
  • Thinking outside the box
  • Working with colour to create mood
  • Developing concepts from inception through to completion
  • Finding inspiration in your surroundings
  • Sourcing, making and designing props to bring your concept to life

and so much more.

This is not just a workshop for photographers!  We have worked hard to put this together in a way that will help anybody who is on a creative journey – graphic designers, interior designers, painters, sculptures, textile artists and more will all benefit from Listen With Your Eyes.

Through-out 2016 Listen With Your Eyes will be offering dates in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth and other cities/towns by request.  Each workshop will be a full day, and will include catering, take home materials and one month of online creative mentoring following the day.  Workshops will be strictly limited to an attendance of only 12 people at each one to ensure the best possible individual attention is offered.
